YOU JUST NEED FUCKING EYES TO SEE IF THERE IS ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR NOT!!! GGRRRAHAHHJAJAHHASFasdfafAfasfJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’d love to do a big post but i’ll just summarise with dot points.
- 22nd have x-mas dinner with my family
- leave friday 23rd for my GF’s family. Have packed spare of EVERY FLUID except fuel, 2 shifting spanners, 2 screwdrivers and a ratchet with common bits. Also have jump leads and a tow cable.
- Car is very hot but not over heating. Stop at Bordertown and remove the grill a’la dori king. No intercooler though. The unrestricted airflow keeps the car running great the rest of the trip.
- Get to bendigo 3pm 23rd.
- 24th we have dinner/drinks at Aunty Jenny’s place
- 25th we have x-mas morning, Lunch at Aunty Jenny’s and Dinner at Aunty Manda’s
- 26th we go to Lake Eppalock and pub dinner
- 27th we go to Echuca and NSW for some winery with the grandparents
- 28th we drive from bendigo to dandenong (melbourne)
- along the way we stop at Hanging Rock, my old schools, my old houses, nostalgia cruise. (i was born in adelaide, lived in melbourne, now back in adelaide)
- Arrive at my Granny’s house to surprise her. I’ve told her the previous week that we dont have time and cant come. i lied. The rest of my extended family is there. Buig surprise for everyone except Aunty Mary who i rang to make sure we went to the right house and have big dinner and wild turkey.
- 29th we leave Dandenong at 12noon (11.30 adelaide time), top up with fuel, and get on the monash fwy at the very very end and start driving.
- Stops at Western Ring Road maccas, Beaufort Junk Shop, Nihll loo, Bordertown for a spotted cheap fuel fill up (easily had 200km left in the tank), Keith for a proper pub dinner, and home at 10.30 adelaide time. :)
Lofty Time Trial
80kph Speed Limit, average about 60kph
It’s a two lane thin road with poor to average road surfacing. There’s a jump too haha this photo doesnt adequately show the terrain, its a bad news if you have an off on the western side. Mt Lofty (the summit is just under the A) is the highest mountain in Adelaide
So i didnt have a stop watch so i timed to Led Zeppelin’s IMMIGRANT SONG haha
just did a 2m25s run on Mt Lofty. It was probably faster because i didnt have the rolling start and when i was talking a mate he said i stopped about 150m after the finish of the time trial lol but whatever. Plus im probably inaccurate due to my crazy timing methods.
2m25s is what i timed.
This is with the current bullshit set up. 27 year old bushes, dead & high springs, dying front left shock, cheap feathered front tyres and stock brakes.
S13 etc run high 2.20s haha but it doesnt surprise me that i was faster. Those drivers waste time with show pony driving. Apparently the record is 2.05 or something in an FF Hatchback which diesnt surprise me either. FF on that course is a definite advantage
cant wait to see what the suspension set up does for this time
pic of the road up in a sec when i screen print google maps
No… We didn’t go to Australia. We don’t know any touge there. Except some of the Australian touge stories we’ve heard long before. But… We was visited recently by our Australian friends… Jared and Antonia. Both of them came all the way down from South of Australia called, Adelaide where a few of unknown touges activities being held off… Jared and Antonia was here on a purpose to met a few of his Malaysian friends besides doing some sight seeing, attending his mate wedding, shopping, clubbing and err… tougeing? Well, that is what he said to us. We’ve known him for quite a year or two now through an internet forum and had only chances to met him when he was in town. According to him, he’s been actively driving up in a touge known as ‘Gorge’ back in Adelaide along with his friends who drive an R32 Skyline, Impreza GC version, plus their very own Holden VP Commodore and a few other car. What really impress us was, he’s been driving to all those touges in Adelaide with a Malaysia own Proton Satria 1.5 and guess what, he loved proton like we all loved our mother… And we think that’s really cool…!!! Okay, let’s cut the crap! We was set to hit the touge in two nights. One was at Kuala Kelawang and the other one was at the Genting Sempah. All of this well planned touge activities was joined by Stanley “Ninja Iga” who was one of the Ultra Racing reprezentator and one of Jared close buddy that has been sending a lot of UR stuff to Australia. And this would be our very first experienced in going to touge with Stanley. So, here we go…Australian Touge!
Gorge Road is pretty awesome if i dont say so myself :)
The Classic Targa Adelaide is on next week and arent there some great public roads on their course! Just check out this link, all the stages are listed as PDF maps. Download and drool.
